Default Help, my truck is stalling and it won't quit.

Here's the history of my problem and what I have done... My truck stalls on me when I brake moderate to hard and come to a complete stop. I have replaced the thermostat (and when I did that there was no coolant in the block but no leaks?!), IAC Motor, cleaned the throttle body, ran 3 bottles of EFI cleaner through the tank, the coil pack on cylinder 1 (only cylinder showing a code if and when the check engine light comes on which is not very often), moved said coil pack to cylinder 3, and the PCV valve. All vacuum lines seem to be in good condition. What else could be wrong?

Signed,
thoroughly confused

Have you checked for codes yet? It should be throwing one if it is stalling like that.

By anychance is your cruise control not working either?

Default 5.9 Liter Spark Plug Eater

I own a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 5.9L. I don't know if our problems are related, but for the last two years I have been experiencing spark plug electrode burning or melting of the electrode, and sometimes cracking of the ceramic coating.
I have been replacing one or two spark plugs every 6 months or so. It is amazing to see what happens to these plugs....the electrodes are just nubs.
I know when the spark plugs are "eaten" because the truck begins to sputter and backfire.
Does anyone out there know what the problems is? I haven't a clue and it's driving me nuts!

Sounds like detonation is beating them up. Might be running too lean.
