Yeah... its another coolant flush question
Well i got the mopar anti-freeze today and i want to do the flush tomorrow. but i have been wondering, when i use the coolant flush kit and hook the hose up and run the truck do i open the radiator drain too? does all of the antifreeze come out of the fill tank on top of the rad? and when i refill isnt there gunna be a bunch of hose water in the system (block, lines...) should i pull the plug on the block too?
this is looking like more of a pain in my *** than i thought it was gunna be.
thanks

I do not reccomend using those "flush kits" that require tap water to be put into your system. Only distilled water should be in there. Tap water has all kinds of oxidants and sediment that is not good for your radiator.
If I was changing the fluid, I would use the drain plug on the bottom or just pull the lower radiator hose and let as much drain as possible. then just refill. The amount that is in the block is minor for what you actually replace. Just my thoughts.

yeah, i was thinking that too. the fluid doesnt look real dirty so i dont think it NEEDS to be flushed. luckilly the kit was only $2.
the other day i pulled off a line to install the flush kit and obviously dumped some antifreeze out of the system, i didnt have any mopar stuff to replace it with so i just dumped some green stuff in (probably half a quart) thats why i want to change it asap.
do you think that little bit of green stuff that might not get drained out will cause me any problems?
thanks for the reply

Your fine though. Just dump out the majority and pour new stuff in. You'll be good as new.
