Default where oh where is my engine oil going????

2004 Hemi. Changed oil a few months back. Added 7qt of my favorite synthetic. Came to just below the full mark on dipstick, with truck sitting level in my garage.

Now 4k later, routine check of fluids shows low oil (truck parked in same spot.) Down around the add mark. What's up with this? I'm not leaking anything. No smoke. Oil looks and smells clean. Engine runs great. No funny sounds.

Anyone else experience this on a Hemi?

your just burning it up. Not uncommon for some trucks to burn 1qt of oil between changes.

Mine uses 1 quart every 1500 miles. I use regular oil and change the filter and oil every 3000 miles. Been the same since I got it almost 20k ago.

+1 dirtydog, I use a little over a quart every 5k miles. Just normal for some motors to burn oil over that many miles. Gotta feed your workhorse every now and again, don't you???

I'd say your most likely just burning it into our environment haha And for it to "low" wouldnt that mean only loosing 1 quart of oil?..

I've NEVER had a vehicle use or burn that much oil between changes. And that gauge is pressure, not level.

I have had a few, Most of them some of the lifter seals went bad. I replaced the seals and voila.

lifter seal? I believe you mean valve seal as there are no seals on a lifter.

My truck used to not burn any but has started using 1 qt per ssrvice. I am not worried about it at all.
