Question smoothing the front bumper?

so i am eventually gonna sand off the fugly chrome on my front bumper and color match that area. i actually need to get the whole bumper (the colored area too) repainted. so my question is, has anyone ever molded/smooth the crease between the colored part and the chrome part, and maybe even the front lip too, to make the bumper look like one piece? if so... any pics out there? i searched for a while and came up with nothing.

Use Fiberglass to mold the gap between the two. Bondo will crack. You'll need some Long hair and short hair and then finish up with bondo type filler. Seal, primer, paint, clear. it's a lot of work. i would just keep it the way it is and just paint both. Much easier.

well i know that, but i have the materials and the time... so i was thinkin id just smooth it before i got it painted. do you have to take the bumper off in sections, or does it all come off as one piece?

it comes off as one piece. it is actually a pita to get the upper bumper cover and lower air dam off. i haven't heard of anyone doing this extreme of mod to the stock bumper. should look really cool..

I've actually seen one like that around here. Didn't look too good to me but maybe they just didn't do a very good job. I could tell that the curve of the top cap and the curve of the bumper didn't match up well. I'm sure it could look better though.

well im very **** about my custom work, i dont half *** stuff. and i was just wondering if i should work on it while its ON the truck or off. i just wanted everything to stay in place while im working on it. but since it will all come off in one piece, ill take it off THEN work on it.
