If you think of how small the fogs are compared to the rest of the front of the truck....The chances of the fog getting busted are slim. Though it can happen, i don't think it will be likely to haunt the same driver time and time again.
I mean you can't go putting plastic over the whole front of the truck...lol

i agree it would have to be thick and then securing it would be a headache unto its self, and i don't think gutter protectors would be sturdy enough.

When I bought mine both were smashed out. Been a year now and there are quite a few little nicks and pits. They clearly are tough so even something like the metal mesh that will slow down the big stuff will be more than sufficient.

I lost one in my 08 to a street sweeper a month after I got it. Bulb burned out instantly on it for some reason. My 03 work pickup has a broken lense but still works; knock on wood.

www.lamin-x.com

I used this on both my cars when some rocks had taken out the fog lights and cracked the headlights on a cross country trek. I have also put them on my truck (clear) once I bought it. They come in a couple of shades/tints and are easy to apply and remove.

I have had mine for over a year and not had them busted out....weird. But good luck with your issues. I drive 96 miles a day round trip and still have my lights. Quit tailgating!
