bilsteins are awesome. very smooth. but you do know that leveling your front end is going to cause it to ride more stiff than stock right? and also, if you are planning on leveling, and want 2" longer front shocks, get front shocks for a 2500. they will fit a 1500 and are 2" longer.
2WD, mainly pavement driving = Monroe Reflex's
Ranchos (like the Monroe's, also a Tenneco shock) and Bilsteins will also be good, but many report that the denser nitrogen is a little stiff on a 2WD truck.
You will find the Monroe's gives a little softer, smoother ride on the street with it's hydrogen gas...

.....for some reason ur advice holds a little wait....... I've monitored this site often before joining and took notice of ur advice to people and again watching the outcome they had from taking ur advice .............I have one question though..
...... If I plan on leveling out the front of my Truck, will the standard monroe reflex work still.......giving the shock will have to stretch more...... or like Ol dirty said, will i have to go with the Billsteins . ..............
I just leveled my truck last weekend. I have the stock shocks on there and it rides like crap. I'm putting the ranchos that are made for the 2500 on it. Hopefully they will be in today. They are 2 inches longer than stock. I believe that putting stock length shocks back on it with a level wouldn't help much since they are still going to be nearly fully extended.

The brackets allow for stock length shocks after a level with NO adverse effect.
My stock shocks are way too soft. This is why I am going with the stiffer Bilstein high pressure gas shocks. These will also keep the darn thing from changing lanes when I hit a bump by keeping the tires planted on the ground.
If I wanted a soft, mushy ride, I would have bought a 300C or something.

I put my new shocks on today and the ride is 100 times better. I definitely should have done it at the same time as I did the level and saved myself some time doing it all at once.
Oh well, it's done now.
