how do i clear a cel?

Default how do i clear a cel?

Hey guys i cleaned my tb and filter for my cai put it all back together and forgot to plug my iat sensor in and now i have a cel how do i clear it i think its the only thing it could be because it wasnt there before and everything else is plugged in?

Reset the PCM, this will also clear all codes...

Do you have a programmer? Use the code reader/resetter feature. If not, then go to Autozone.

i dont remember how to do that ive read about a certain fuse under the hood right which number is it? no programmer yet hopefully soon....

I bought a code reader from AutoZone for 50 bucks which reads and clears codes in a matter of seconds.....Just a though...

do this by unhooking you battery for about 10 mins or so. Make sure the AIT is hooked back up so you don't get the CEL again. If you do then you need to find out what the code is that is throwing the cel.

thanks bear im pretty sure thats the reason i was in a hurry and just put it all in then i left with the other car and my fiance took off with the truck and said " some light is on " and i knew immediatly that the iat was left danglin just a stoopid mistake....

1) Pull fuse #19 or #23 or #31 (vehicle year dependent, but it's labeled)
2) Close door and buckle seatbelt (technically you don't have to buckle the seatbelt, but it helps to stop all unnecessary chimes)
3) Put key in ignition and turn to "on" and wait until all chimes stop (on...not start!)
4) Turn key to start and hold until you hear 2 chimes (I think it was about 15 seconds or so.
5) Turn key off
6) Re-install fuse

hammer your the man thats what i was talking about i knew there was a way to do it w/o disconnect battery......

just to note on my 04 4.7l on #2 fastening seatbelt and shutting door = no chimes 2 thumbs up and #4 there were no chimes i held for 30 secs atleast stopped and repeated the steps and still no chimes but it still removed the cel off the dash now im going to run some errands we'll see what happens.....again thanks guys
