Exclamation $129 Wiring interface, WHAT?

So I'm purchasing a new deck on Crutchfield and found one I was pleased with, when all of a sudden, right after I clicked "add to cart", BAM, a magical "needed item" appeared. Moreover, the

I did a quick search here and didn't find much. Is this wiring harness thing necessary? After a bit of research, I've learned it's what I believe is for the steering wheel controls (which I don't have -.-) and interior lights. I'm positive someone else has come across this. Any input or guidance?

that crutchfield for u i never buy anything from them wayyyyy to expensive and always trying to get u to buy extra stuff. now im not sure if u need that or not my 2003 didnt but they are diff trucks. go on google and search sonic electronix a million times better than crutchfield. and im pretty much sure that pac is for the steering wheel controls like u thought because those usually run around a hundred but im not 100%. i have a friend that owns a audio custom shop ill call him tommorow for you and ask him.

if u check on amazon its alot cheaper

Yes this wiring option seemed to come up regardless of the deck I chose. What is CANBUS?

Dont hold me to it because I know my truck doesnt have it but I believe it is apart of the computer system the truck runs on. I know those trucks with CANBUS (06+) need these adapters for the radio change-outs so everything still reads right with the truck. They are not cheap adapters and thats why i thought this is what you were talking about. Call Crutchfield and ask.

I need that bugger for my 07. It wasn't $129, I think I paid about $75(?). It provides key off power.
