Default Where To Find Big Shackle Receiver

Have seen on a few trucks that they have the d shackles hanging on the back of there truck attached to a receiver. But the ones that i like are the big oversized ones and i cannot seem to find them anywhere online at all. If any of you guys know where i can get one that would be great. Want it for winter time to pull people out but also want it for the looks. I know i could get the small normal sized shackle receivers but i wanna get somethin that looks big. hope you guys can find one for me. Thanks

Here's a good size one i found. Bit pricey though. I couldn't find too many big ones with the receiver. I'd probably jut buy the receiver then buy a big shackle.

Goto a tractor supply and get the parts to make one, they got the 2" box steel and some of the biggest shackles you ever saw for not much money.
If you can weld, you can really make a jam up one for prolly under $25.

The ones I got for the front of my truck are 6 ton rated and were like $8 a piece. I coulda got them double that size for around $12, but the grade 8 U-Bolts I mounted in the winch bracket were the biggest I could fit, and had to have a shackle that would fit through it.

What would i have to weld? If i get the box steel and then put two holes in them, wouldnt that be good or not? One for the pin and the other for the shackle. b/c i have never welded b4 and dont have access to a welder

Well...what i would do since i have access to a welder would get some square tubing (box steel) whatever size that fits into the receiver then i would drill a hole through the side of the square tubing find a piece of tubing that fits nicely over the shackle bolt thats going through the tube weld it inside the square tube then make endcaps for both ends of the box steel.....if that makes any sense.

Yeah, you'd want to endcap that tube at the very least, would add a whole lotta strength to that hollow tube.

And remember, if you are gonna go around getting vehicles unstuck, it's a recovery strap you want, NOT A TOW STRAP!!!
