Default Cutout question

This may be a dumb question, but it's a dumb question I don't know the answer to... If I install cutouts in front of the 02 sensor, how will that affect them?

You will throw a check engine light (CEL) and the truck will go into "Sensor Fault" mode and run at a preprogrammed setting which might cause the engine to run a little rough...

I've heard of "phantom" sensors that send off a code to the computer saying everything is running correctly no matter what, any negative side affects to this scenario?

Is there even enough room to add the cutout before the cat? I know there isnt on mine.

My neighbor is a welder, and I've already conned him into helping me with the headers. We were looking at my options and he came up with that idea. Figured if he thought it would work why not look into it... The space issue he's planning on solving by chopping off a section before the Y-pipe and sliding the cat back then welding the cutout in the gap left in front of the cat. The two possible negatives were the sensors, which Y'all have solved and the issue of too little backpressure.

read truckin151's threads on his headers. you do NOT want to cutout before the cats. he couldn't stand it.
