Car Alarm/Remote start taplock feature?
Hey I am looking at getting a Remote Start/Car Alarm system. I was researching a bit and found that some of these systems have a feature where you can tap a code into the windshield and make it do things like unlock or even start.
Does anyone have a system that is capable of this. The only one I have seen is a viper 2 way unit. Would really like to know how well it works as that That would fix one of the things I miss the most about my old car, The ability to leave the keys in the car.
If you have a system like this could you tell me make and model of it so I can look into it?

Ive got a Clifford 50.7x which is the exact same as the Viper 5901 and i can tell you that mine doesnt have it so if you can get it, it has to be an add-on. LMK what you find because I may be interested also.
After a lot more research I found this, http://www.legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=87339
It also has a proximity sensor that will autmatically unlock and disarm as you come within range to your truck. I am gonna find and buy me one of these and ill let ya know how it works out.

ya if you go out to get the mail and have your keys with you then it could unlock ur doors, what a pain. if you park close to your house and when walking around in there it could do it and u wouldn't know. i just got a remote start installed on my jeep and i like it so far. but i would never get a proxy sensor.
Im not really to concerned about the security issue around here. However I think you guys are right. I think Ill nix the proximity stuff. But I am really happy to get the tap unlock feature, As I am often outside working and for whatever reason don't have my keys. This will let me not have to go in a search for them all the time.
