Well, to be honest, it's kind of why I bought a newer truck. I was done trying to fix my truck all the time. I have a much too busy life then to be fussing around with my truck. I have enough time to keep the interior and exterior clean and I know how to take care of a vehicle. I don't want to risk screwing anything up on this truck because it's in perfect condition and I plan to keep it that way for many years to come. I wanted to have it serviced through the dealership so I could have a tangible piece of material that proved I take care off my truck incase anything needs to be covered by my warranty later down the road. I don't mind changing my own oil, but other than I do not plan to do any of the other work on the truck because it's going to be covered under warranty unless its your wear and tear type items.

It will still be covered under warrant if you do your own maintance. All you have to show is some kinda schedule of when you did what. But to each his own, Honestly if I had the money I would probably have someone else (Other than Dealership) do my work for me, however, Currently I have a disgustingly larger amount of time than I do money. But Im just lazy that way when I can be.

Besides the money I save on working on my own truck allows me to buy more mods.

I can understand the warranty thing, they're less b****y if they've done all the work. Just don't let them push you around at the dealership, and don't be afraid to cause a scene. I went with my fiance when she took her mazda in for an oil change (don't attack me i do this on my truck cause i'm pretty sure i've voided my warranty already). I went to the the restroom I came back to find the mechanic pushing her into buying a new altinater and he had replaced her air filter already(taking out the one i put in a month before) Needless to say i was glad i was there and we got the money back for the airfilter plus their's cause they had already trashed ours.

If your are too busy to do it then thats cool. I just know my dealership here and everytime they say they will work on it on a certain day, its usually a few days later. Let them tell you it will be done on a certain day and again, its days later. Nothing is more aggravating (to me) than telling me one thing and doing soemthing else.

In my experience the dealerships all around here at least have good time management going for them. I'm not saying they are fair or genuine, but they always have very fast turn around unlike the backyard mechanics around here who routinely will take a vehicle hostage for 2-3 days before even LOOKING at it. I am in hopes that nothing will go wrong with my truck until 60,000 miles which will be the next major tune-up.

In regards to the differentials, transfer case, and transmission, when should I be having these done? The truck has 36,000 miles on it.
