...The '08 tail lights are shaped oddly, so I was wondering if anyone w/an '08 Ram has pics of any tail light mods (covers, guards, tinted, smoked, etc)?

Jk, I smoked this one out myself, when I get some time, I'll be doing my tailights...A few guys in my town have it done and it doesn't look bad at all. There is one truck here with chrome covers on his truck, they look like crap with the flame designs on it imo

 

Here's overlays but they tend to make the lights very dim

There was a guy on Ebay that was smoking the lights out and they looked really good. i did a quick search and didn't see them. He charges like $180 and you have to give your light in for cores. Much better than using nitshades that will wear off eventually or chip/peel or not be even. very hard to make these bugeyed lights even with sanding etc...

 

I've smoked out a few friends' taillights with my paint gun..I used a transparent candy black paint with hardener of course, and they all turned out really great. But I just recently got into painting on cars, my headlights, taillights, bumpers, grills, its not too hard to do taillights

 

jsut get rid of them, they are ugly.

 

the tinted overlays suck u must buy a sheet and do it that way and they do not hurt the light out put my lights were done by me and the light out put is better than nightshades....smoked vinyl i bought a sheet not precut the precut tend to be small and if you dont put em on perfect your buying more.....with the sheet you cut it bigger and just trim off the extra but im a tell ya the 08 with the bubbled lights suck to vinyl it hard as hell so your kinda stuck with having them painted or switching them out......

 

On mine when I have the extra cash Im planning on putting a set of 02-06 on mine and shading those. They don't look bad either. I personally don't like the tail lights on the 07-08's.

 

Thanks for the responses bros. I'll probably end up switching them out w/an '06. I'll have to find out the wiring harness differences, etc.

 

Hey, Here is a pic of my 07 black ram with the black tail lights that I have tinted. I really dont care for the 07 to 08 ones but just did this till i can aford some led tail lights. Pic is ok.

 

if you get recons there are no wiring differences.
