I got the Recon xenon bulbs - premium blue...I personally think they are a good shade of blue...they arent the bluest I was hoping they would be but they turned out pretty good...here is the link

If you really go blue you are not going to get the kind of light out of a white bulb, even yellow will give you more light than blue. Why do you choose to go with the ghetto bulbs instead of hid's? if you arent going to get hid's then at least get piaa's or silverstars, you will get the safest and best light out of those two brands, and the nicer silverstars come out with a very white light for a halogen bulb, Im assuming those recon bulbs are probably a good bulb as well with how good of a name recon is.
That being said, as was mentioned, for a bluer (is that even a word? LOL) color, you're going to want either 8000k or 10000k. If you go 12000k, you're going more into purple than blue.
Before I went with HIDs, I used to order Nokya arctic white bulbs from Ebay. Nokyas are pretty good bulbs and are brighter than regular halogens. The ones I ordered (arctic white) were around the 6-7000k level, which is pretty much pure white light. I believe Nokya makes higher "k" bulbs, which would probably be about the brightest non-HID bulbs you are going to be able to find.
ok, just for reference, 5000k is closest to white, 6000k is touch of blue, 8000k is blue, and 10000k is purplish blue, and 12000k is purple, and 15000k is like having a very bright blacklight in your headlights. If you want good light 5000k is your best bet, I have 6000k in my truck but mine are hid's and its a whole different level of light that you are not going to achieve with halogens. Audi's stock hid bulbs are 4300k if that gives you a color reference as what true white really is. silverstars have a light that is 4300k if I recall that imo has better looks/light output match than any other halogen. PIAA's have good color to them with good light, but not as good of light, and my brother ran Nokyas and he liked them for a while, but they burned out really fast, I have no experience with Recon bulbs though.

the blue is a color preference for me. I like the look of it. Ive already had silverstars, and about two other brands of bulbs. I just want blue bulbs ive seen two trucks around my parts running blue head and fog lights that look really good and they arent HID's. I just havent caught up to askin them what brand or where they got them from.

And GHETTO? How is that ghetto when alot the new luxury cars have blue lights or tints in the HID's. I havent seen many capric classic's with blue lights..lol.. But i guess since i dont have HID's i dont know how much of a difference they make.

If you want a good light that is blue, go with hid's, the luxury cars that have blue lights are hid's, the bluer you go on a halogen bulb, the less light you are going to get, that is the fact with a 55w bulb, you can only get so much light out of it and the blue is killing the light. I know lights very well, and if someone else on this site kicks in that works with them as well they will say the exact same thing I am. You will not get a "good" blue light without hid's. A light with a little blue tint that has good light output is possible, but a blue light is not. Im sorry to burst your bubble. And personally I hate the a$$holes that throw bad lights on their vehicles for the "looks" of it and end up being totally unsafe on dark roads because their lights are off brand piles of junks. And no, my opinions are not going to change on this and as long as you pursue this stupid notion of yours I am going to call you an idiot. If you want blue, get hid's. Thats a fact. sorry.
