Default E Brake Light

I have a 06 Ram 1500 slt with the hemi in it. Every now and then there will be a chime ding and then the e brake light will come on. It will stay on when the truck is moving. Sometimes after one restart it goes away. Sometimes it comes back. I have a code reader but I have not remembered to check for codes when it comes on. What could be causing this and what should I look for?

thanks.

I have the same problem, plus my ABS light comes on. When I restart the truck it may stay off for weeks, then eventually it comes on again.

I wonder if this is caused by the rear wheel sensor or if the rear brakes need adjustment? My brakes seem fine but something must be causing this.

I had that on my truck for a while, Occasionally when I would use the E-brake, it wouldnt come all the way back up. What I had to do is pull out the E-brake return handle, and while held out, I pulled up the E-brake peddle with my foot. It wasnt returning all the way, and causing my light to come on. Hope thats all that it is for you.
