I dont think there really is a law about this. All of my cars and trucks have tinted tails and headlights and never got a ticket and been pulled over and never said anything to me about them. I say it depends on the cop and how his day is going and where you live lol. If your going to tint your tails on your truck, get a led tail gate brake light thing so everytime you brake it goes on, so you can have tails tinted but still other drivers can see that long led bar and cops wont pull you over as much. I have one and it is great. Now I have heard of other people saying they got a 200 ticket for having them tinted but I have always been fine. Hope this helps, thanks

Go to your states MVD/DOT web page or call down there. The tails have to be visible for x amount of feet and its the same with the headlights, plus you have to be able to see the reflectors in both the headlights and taillights here (or at least thats what the MVD/ADOT page says is legal). Personally I'm going tint my tails soon though to give them a slightly darker appearance.

Here in gainesville Ive always heard tails are legal, but heads are illegal. Ive known a guy who got tickets for both but he had a long history with the same cop, my brother has had blacked out tails on 2 different cars for about 6 years total and no tickets.
