Unhappy Rust!!

Well between my friends they have an 07,04,02,and 98 rams and mine is the only one rusting where the tail gate meets the bed you can't see it when the tailgate is up so I might just fix it myself was going to take it to the dealer and make sure it's not under my warranty first. Just sucks cause that was something I didn't think I would have to worry about for about 10 years unlike the 83 Ramcharger I traded in on it.

Hmmm. That's surprising. Do you live in a damp area? Do you not wax that area?

I live in Canada with the stupid salt on the roads in the winter,,
My bed started doing this too late last year and by this time its already
spread to be visible on the outside of the bed now .. Its only a matter of
time before the rust cancer eats my whole truck

open up your hood and look at the seam on the inside of the hood. you might be in for a surprise. My truck has almost no rust on it but its rotting right there already.

I too live in the great white north and the pinch seams below the rockers and at the bottom of the tailgate started to rust last year. I bought some duplicolor that matched the truck perfectly sanded down the the rusty areas first with some 100 grit then went over it with some scotch brite gave it a quick blast of primer (after masking the desired areas off I should add) then giving the panels a splash of 2 coats of paint. It has been holding up well as it has lasted a weekend already but the tailgate is starting again not too concerned though its getting painted and dent popped come spring.
