Default Using synthetic oil

My 2006 1500 uses SAE 5W-30 oil. I'm thinking of switching to full synthetic. Do I still use 5W30?

Thanks

Yes, use the same weight. The type of oil does not determine the viscosity needed.

You have MDS, right? That calls for 5w-20

DUH! I just assumed. MDS= Multiple Displacement System. Cuts the Hemi down to four cylinders under light load and steady speeds.

dude, I have been using Mobil 1 from the moment I bought my rig and nothing else. It does cost more then most others but its worth it to me.....then again it could all be in my head, but my dad used it and my dads dad used it so I am too. And, the engine runs great!

I use it to, Im pretty happy so far, Dont really think it is all that expensive other than the fact that these hemi's take so friggin much of it.

i was using mobil 1 then the store didnt have it for the next change so i had to use mobil clean 5000 and i have to say after switching back again to synthetic the engine is quieter at ilde. just if you switch to synthetic oil, dont go back to conventional.

Story time, My daughter while driving home from school lost a water pump on her BMW 325. Of course nothing detered her from continuing home until the engine froze up. Mobil 1 kept the engine from being destroyed. Wraped the head but saved the bearings and cylinders. I won't run anything but Mobil 1 in my vehicles.
