Default cleaned my TB and now the ETC light is flashing

I decided to clean my TB this weekend with out reading the "how to" first. I definitely did everything they say not to do...ie...use compressed air and carb clearner. So now i need to face the fact that im going to have to buy a new TB. Does anyone have any input on what to buy and where to buy it? I have a 2006 5.7L hemi regular cab 4x4. let me know guys. thanks

Brad

i looked on fastman.com and saw that they had ones for the 5.2 and 5.9 but nothing for the 5.7 hemi. Will a 5.2/5.9 TB work for my truck?

You probably just gunked up the air sensor downstream from the TB, you may find that after you purchase a new TB you will still have the same problem...

What if he's soaked all the electronics with carb cleaner at the end of the TB?
I believe there's sensitive stuff back there.

I would determine if the TB is actually the problem before going out and buying a new one. Unless you were planning on the upgrade anyway.

If you got the carb cleaner on any of the electronics it'll eat away at them, its to corrosive. I always just spray down a rag with the TB cleaner and then wipe it down with the rag. That being said, after looking at the pics of my old one, unless you really soaked it down good with the carb cleaner and it ran down the shaft into the internals or you got it on the plug I dont think you can really hurt them to much as those are really the only two places that have any chance at damaging the TB itself.

What code are you getting? Did you spray any carb cleaner down the intake with the truck running (like the old carberated setups)? How does the plug look going into the TB? Is it seated right? Any wires on it damaged? Is the butterfly plate stuck or sticking (Pulling the CEL code will tell you that)?

The fastman TB is a great product just email him and he'll get you set up. Just be sure that it really is the TB that is bad first. Spend $237 for a new TB and find out its an electrical issue and having to spend $200+ more to fix it is quite costly.

I doubt your TB is of any problems. Likely a sensor. Try resetting the ecu and see what happens.
