Exclamation Electric door lock problem

Hey guys, yesterday the front passenger side door stopped locking when I hit the "lock" button on my door or on the passenger door. It will lock manually with the little **** on the door, but not electrically at all. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem? I'm thinking the motor in there is burnt out? If thats the case would I just be able to swap it with on from one of the back doors? Thanks for any help.

maybe, take it out and put current on the motor and see if it works. I have heard of modules going bad and doin that. But simple step would be the motor. Did it just stop or was it making any noises before, ie like a goose honk?

Several guys have had this issue including myself. I had to replace the latch assembly and was good to go after that.

I had to order another door locking motor because mine was making a buzzing noise when lock/unlocking it, I had to take the panel off the door and reach into the back to replace it. It was a PITA.

LOL, yeah it is a big pain though, you have to disconnect the bad one by reaching through the holes in the metal once you take the panel off. There are like 4 of these little bar type things that connect to the motor and you can't see **** so it's like you have to guess. Then once you finally get that out, you gotta get the good one in, and that's just another story lol. Frustrating.

Yeah... i'm used to working in the dark and on sh*t you can't see... I work on Harriers, and the British engineers didn't always think sh*t through. LOL. I'll let Dodge handle this one... too many other battles going on right now.

is there anyway to cancel out the auto locking on the door once you hit about 20mph? its a PITA when you get to where you're going and put it in park and the doors are still locked. esp when there are people in the back. i have to unlock the doors so they can get out. on other vehicles i have been in, the doors unlock when you put it in park.
