Default i think my torque converter is shot...

...when i roll up to a stop sign, and let's say not completely stop, then give it gas to go again, sometimes it slips for like half a second then jerks me forward. it's been happening for a few months now, but now it's like half the time...lol

stupid truck.

That sucks, guess you'll have to spend some more cash on your truck.

Is the truck maybe not making it into 1st gear in time? And then banging the downshift? I don't know how the 4 speeds treat a rolling stop situation.

The reasons to stay away from Dodge automatics keeps coming

^^
i know right. it's not getting into gear in time...and if i'm in 3rd but at low speed, if i coast to a stop i could feel the downshift into 2 and first sometimes. and sometimes i even don't get first until it slips into hard after pushin the gas.

So what's your plan, are you gonna take it somewhere or drive it until it craps out?

looks to me like it's time for a trans flush. The TQC probably isn't going out more than the valve for first is sticking. mine now revs up before engaging fifth.

i think i'm gonna drive it to the first dealership i can find that has a nissan frontier with the v6 manual in it...lol...i'm mostly serious though.

and i will try a flush...hopefully that'll fix it. right now my camaro is in the shop...and i sold my maxima to my mom. so i can't go a day without a car...but soon enough.

what i have noticed is that it seems to happen less now...weird?

So the transmission isn't slipping, so much as the engine is struggling against 2nd gear when it should be in 1st. Maybe a routine service is all you need.

I think of a slipping transmission story going something like..."When I punch it, and it downshifts, the engine screams and I don't really accelerate". My buddy had a GMC with about 180,000 miles, and it was starting to develop that problem.
