Default Looking for new shocks, got some questions..?

Hey guys sorry to post another shock question, but as some of you know, i cranked my t-bars... and i am already sick of my shocks topping out. so... i'm in the market for some new shocks. i have heard nothing but good things about the Rancho 9000 and 5000's. I cant afford the 9000's so that leaves the RS5000 series.
But I need a shock that is 2" longer than stock and Rancho only makes shocks for 0, 4, and 6 inches of lift.
So the question is; can i use the 4" lift shocks?
FYI, 0" lift shocks are 11.6'' compressed and 16.5" extended
4" lift shocks are 12.5" compressed and 19.1" extended

So do you guys think i would be ok with the 4" lift shocks since they are only an inch longer than stock? or will i have bottoming out issues?

Does anyone have the specs for stock shocks? maybe i would be ok with the 0" lift shocks if the extended length is longer...

THANKS!!

or you can get some bilstein 4600s for a 2500. they will fit the 1500 and are 2" longer. 4600s are the blue/yellow ones.

ok, thanks RH... i think you are thinking of the RS9000's, they are the higher end ones. I havent looked into prices yet, but i really dont want to spend a buttload of money on them... i can get the RS5000's for about $170 for all 4
we'll see....

When I leveled my 2wd 1500 I put the Rancho 5000's for the 2500 on it up front. They were indeed 2 inches longer than the stock shocks and seem to ride pretty good. They are probably cheaper than the bilstiens...not sure since I didn't price the bilstiens. I assume that the 4wd 2500 shocks fit the 1500 the same as the 2wd versions, but I don't know that for certain. If you really want ranchos, their website has a fitment guide that will tell you what the top and bottom versions are so you can compare and see what will fit.

the 4" lift shocks should be ranged for 2"-4", thats usually what they are, and the 6" ones are 4.5" to 6" lift. Thats usually the range on the for what the applications are. Like I have rough country shocks that are for 2-4" of lift and they are perfect.

rs5283 12.5" compressed and 19.1" extended (02-05 1500 4" lift)
rs5221 14.5" compressed and 23.6" extended (02-06 2500 0" lift)
rs5197 13.75" compressed and 21.25" extended (94-01 1500 0" lift)

All of these should work.

ofc you can go back a few steps and search other factors such as 1500 4x4, etc etc.
