Question What lights to use???

Hey guys I am going to install the lights behind the grille on my truck and I am stumped. My boss has a set of brand new Piaa 520 lights that I could probably pick up for $100. They are still new in the box and have all the wires and switch with them. I see a lot of people use the Hella 500's and I can get that set-up still a little cheaper... But are the Piaa 520s going to be much better? Or am I paying for name? What do you guys think? I know the Piaa lights already have the 85 watt bulb as to the Hella's having a 55 watt.

patience buddy....you cant expect to be flooded with info and opinions after 1 1/2 hrs especially on a holiday weekend. id personally go with the hella just bcuz of the price difference. i dont think they would be so popular if they werent any good.

patience.... my biggest weakness lol. I'm just wondering if it's really worth it when I can get the Piaa's for that price. With the Hella's if I want a 100w bulb or even the 85 like the Piaa's I would have to switch the power wires.. No idea how much that would run me though.

Get the Hellas, they are a good light and you can get them for around $40 if not less. If you want to upgrade the bulbs you can and for what you will pay to upgrade it should still be less than the PIAA's.

There used to be a seller that was selling them on eBay for $39.99, that is where I got mine. There was also another thread on here where someone found them even cheaper than that.

wow. guess i need to do a little more research then. lol i found them at wal mart for like $65 i believe. I tried to search ebay for them but it seemed like all the online prices were even in line with wal marts. I guess that is just simple, easy, and convienent. If something don't work take it back where online is more difficult. I work at a motorcycle dealership so I guess I know how the whole online thing goes and I like to keep business in the stores but ya gotta go where the best deal is.

I would go for the PIAA lights myself. I bought myself a set of lightforce striker lights and all I can say is WOW....what a difference. You defenately get for what you pay for. A set of Hellas=$60, then a set of lightforce=$250. But if you like to really see at night like I do, then don't go cheap. Also I had 150watt bulbs in the hellas too and the lightforce were still alot brighter.

I guess I would like to see both lights but that won't be possible seems how idk anyone who has either of them. Everyone says the PIAA lights are really good but everyone I see with the mod done on here is using the Hella's. And everyone says to get the hella's to really shine you gotta put a 100w bulb in and then you gotta buy the other bulbs and wiring so i would probably be over $100... idk
