Door Handle Covers Rusting
Just noticed on the passenger side door the chrome door handle cover is developing some rust. It's too cold to start taking them off or anything but is there anything I can do to blend it back into a "chrome" look. Is there any type of spray I can buy to spray over it or anything?
Yeah I know but if I take them off it just looks too plain, plus the truck is already blue so it wouldn't make much sense if I started buying black grilles and stuff like that, it just wouldn't look right on a blue truck, even finding bumpers and grilles the same color of my truck are hard to come by. I was thinking about taking the mirror covers and door covers off in the spring once I'm out of school however. It actually isn't so much as rust on the cover, but it looks as if it peeled off almost and there is a rusty color on the bottom part of the cover about the length and width of a thumb. Maybe I'll take the mirror covers and handle covers off in the spring and have them painted to my truck's color?

If its plastic chrome, it wont rust. It might peel, or start to change colors though. If it was actually chrome, I would recommend using Never Dull. it might be spelt differently. But it takes a while to complete your project with it, but well worth the efforts.
Painting your chrome in the spring as you mentioned would look pretty good I think.

the light bulb in my head just went on lol..sounds like the next thing to do. I may try to get them off during winter break, if they break then oh well, I'll buy another pair and see if my neighbor can paint them for me..as for the mirrors, how should I go about that? Just take off the covers and paint the entire mirror? Because there is no way to cover the piece that extends the mirror out so should I just paint that and the mirror..no point in just painting the cover and still having the extending piece black.
