Comp Cams Comparison
Well me and a few other local guys are going to be doing some cam swaps early next year (hopefully). I am hoping that after I get one under my belt that it will be pretty easy after that.
I'm sure most of you guys have seen my truck roast a set of 35s and I am running a 260 variant.
I really want one, Only I am waiting for my Powertrain warranty to expire. Once it does I am going for a TC and CAM, Probably do both at the same time.
Rubber, Are you running LT headers?

How much of a difference did you notice with the shorties over the stock manifolds? I have to deal with visual inspection here and been deciding if the LT's would be worth the effort I have to go thru every 2 years or if I want to keep it legit and go with shorties. Currently I can get it pass inspection no matter what I do to the truck, But I don't know if that will be the case in 2 or even 4 years from now.
I know that I would really like the Comp 260 with the LT Headers and a better Torque Converter, however, I may just have settle for the shorties.

No emissions in my part of VA. They just check to make sure you have at least cats, mufflers aren't even required. As far as I know, there's no limits on headers, but I may be wrong about the whole deal......
The 260 is a very solid cam, I considered it before deciding on (yet to be installed) KRC 210. With the custom grind at -4 on the KRC it has crazy low end torque numbers. Down side (and my stumbling block) with the KRC is it needs a custom tune (or piggyback controller).
Nice thing about the 260 is I know a few guys running it with NO other modifications and off of just an SC tuner (the older 3815 no less). Although I'd do springs and retainers myself, nobody to my knowledge is having any problem with just the cam alone.
In a QC 4x4 the other models just don't produce the low end torque, they are IMO just like the 6.1 cam much better suited for 4x2 RC trucks...

That's because you're not in northern virginia. All the liberals live here.
