Subs and sub box in a Mega Cab
I just bought a 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 Mega cab and have a sound system I used in my old car that I am having trouble fitting into my new truck. I have two 12" Directed SX12D subs that have a mounting depth of 7 and 3/8" the biggest box I have found for the mega cab is 7" deep, except for one that says it's for a quad cab that is 7.5" deep. I am wondering if this Quad cab one would fit or not, or if I am going to have to get a custom box made. The one I found is for under the seat. I think I will go with Under the seat instead of behind because I should have a little more room to play with underneath.... and should be able to have more cargo space if needed, also the subs will be protected underneath... I think... If anyone can help me out I would appriciate it. Cause I'm not really sure what I should do here.
well if the box is 7.5 an the mounting depth is 7 3/8 an you try to mount them in there even if they do fit, they won't sound that good the 12's would hardly be able to breath.. you would be better off finding smaller 12's or even yet 10's would go perfect they plenty of room for 10's to let loose in a megacab. an would sound just as good, if not better
Doesn't have to be. Maybe he just wants to improve the sound dynamics for listening. My dad loves the stereo I put in my truck.
