AHH what should i do!?
my truck is an 06 QC 1500 2wd.. and a friend of mine has found me a 7in. fabtech lift kit for 500 bucks!.. its coming off his buddies truck that he goes to school with at ITT.. i believe his truck is an 05 or 04 2wd single cab.. but it comes with everything i would just have to replace my ball joints.. i also believe that he is going to throw in his 37 nitto mudd graps for like an extra 100 bucks.. they are in decent shape... so should i do it? i always had lifted trucks but this would be my first 2wd one.. need opinions!!
in a word...YES!!!! because they're both 2wd, the lift components should all fit into place without a problem. Just make sure before you start taking everything apart, you check for any components besides balljoints that need replaced. sucks to have to go get or wait on parts mid way through a job.
thats an incredible steal... go for it

SPINDLES, COILS, BLOCKS, U-BOLTS, AND SHOCKS ARE THE REQUIRED PARTS TO LIFT YOUR TRUCK 7 INCHES. KEEPING IN MIND THE UPPER CONTROL ARMS ARE NOT A REQUIREMENT TO ACHIEVE THIS, THE FACTORY BALL JOINT HAS BEEN KNOWN TO WEAR OUT OVER TIME ON THE 02-05 MODEL TRUCKS, SO CST HAS DEVELOPED A TUBULAR UPPER CONTROL ARM WHICH INCLUDES THE NEW CST PRO-JOINT. THE PRO-JOINT IS COMPLETELY SERVICABLE AND SHOULD HAVE A LIFE SPAN OF ALMOST TRIPLE THE LENGTH OF THE FACTORY BALL JOINT. IF YOU HAVE A 2006-2008 MODEL TRUCK A NEW FRONT BRAKE LINE MUST BE ADDED TO MAKE THE 7" KIT WORK WITHOUT SHEARING OFF THE FACTORY BRAKE LINE, ALL OF THE OTHER CST PARTS ARE 100% COMPATIBLE FROM 02-08 AS LONG AS YOUR TRUCK HAS COIL SPRINGS AND NOT COIL OVER SHOCKS IN THE FRONT.
Note the brake line issue as well as making sure both trucks have coil springs

yea im working on getting it... im trying to have it as an xmas gift and im talking to my buddy more about it.. he says its the complete setup.. the kid is taking it off because he is going to straight axle it and convert it to a 4wheel drive... so that means every 2wd IFS part will be coming off
If a lifted 2wd is what you seek, then jump on it! You'll never have that opportunity again.
All 3rd Gen 4x2 front ends are the same, the parts are interchangeable. ONLY the 4x4s changed the front ends in '06...
