i just bought a 2003 ram 1500 Quad cab base modle and i have a couple of questions for ya guys.

1. Could i convert my manual windows to electric?
2. Could i convert it to power door locks aswell?
3. Can i put fog lights in it?
4. Can I put leather and power seats in it?


I know i will need door panels, window motor, and harness.. but could it be done?

 

Sure anything is possible. The seats wouldn't be bad at all. Windows and doors could be done, but cost a few pennys.

 

ok im saying if i buy door panels window motor and the harness... will the harnes plug right in to my truck and be ready to go?

 

they should plug in somewhere not 100% sure but i think that some of the features you dont have still have the plugs as if you did

 

oh ok thats what i was looking for tomorrow i will get my hands durty and see id i can find the plugs for the harness... thanks man

 

I'm not 100% sure because I've never seen a 3rd Gen Ram without power windows or door locks, but judging from the fact that they even have a wiring harness in the passenger pillar for roof top cab lights on every truck off the line, I'd imagine the wiring and hookups would be inside the doors for electronics as well.
Pop the door panels and have a look/see to be sure. Of course, you know you can always run the wiring yourself. You know there is allocation in the fuse panel for them for sure...

 

Anyone know the cheapest place to pick up a door lock actuator, my R/R door lock died. Not really a thread hi-jack, sure the O/P could use this info too.

 

Last time I had to pick one up to fix the drivers door in an old g/f's car, I got it at Radio Shack for $9.95, figured even if I found one on ebay for a quarter that price, wouldn't be worth the shipping cost...

 

Yeah I'm sure it can all be done as the people above have said. And the fog lights should definately be able to be done... Yours has the cutouts for them in the bumper it's just vented I believe? That wiring wouldn't be hard to do yourself even if there wasn't a stock hook-up. It would be along the same lines as when I installed my PIAA's behind the grille.

 

coo thanks guys I have looked in my fuse box and it has it all power windows, locks, seats, mirrors EVERYTHING! I and i even found the hook ups under the dash.. now the search begins for the harness and all the electrical system oh and power and leather seats =) thanks guys
