Oil choice

Default Oil choice

I have a 2006 mega cab with a hemi i am running mobil 1 5w-20 synthetic and was wanting to switch to 5w-30 synthetic because of availabilty and price was wondering if this is something i can do and will it hurt my motor. and will i lose power any help would be great thanks

5-30 is what i run and i have a MC . just use synthetic you will be fine

Theoretically, you'll lose some mileage, but so many other things have a larger effect (hills, wind, etc.). Should be fine, since you don't have MDS.

Yeah, it's a little thicker and produces more drag on the oil pump so mileage will suffer a little. I just use dino oil and change it every 3K. After 165K on my Mustang, changing the dino oil this way, it is still very clean inside.
