It's all sealed and it hits kinda hard but I don't think there is enough air space. What would my next step be for making it hit harder? Also, what's the main difference between vented enclosures and sealed. Does the vented one hit harder or sound better?

Vented subs need MORE cu/ft. which is limited to begin with in the Ram. Vented causes a boomier type bass that hits kinda hollow if you will. Subs handle less power when they are vented.

Sealed requires least amount of cu/ft space and has harder firmer bass but not as loud as a vented would create. Sealed is a cleaner sound and tighter sound as it's more controlled. Hits lower frequency notes better. Subs can handle more power as there is the bounce back factr of internal pressure.

In my opinion i prefer sealed enclosures better. I like the sound a whole lot more. And as far as an enclosure for your truck it depends on how much work your willing to do. I had the same issue so i got the kicker cvt subs they were awesome but not enough for me. So i built my own box. I suggest making your own fiberglass/ mdf "box" . I did mine for less that 100 bucks it took a few days for everything to cure but its insane. I still have the cvt's in the box and they dont sound anything like shallow mount woofers. I ended up raising my back seats 2 inches so i could go with an insane amount of airspace. After all said and done i have 9 inches of mounting depth so i can put whatever i want under the seats and just shy of 5 cubic feet of airspace total. Plenty!!!! Im about to upgrade to some solo baric's and an apline mrp m1000 amp. Its guna scream. Hope that helped and other questions just ask.

I prefer sealed myself which is what i have.
If you want loud go ported.
If you want cleaner tighter bass go sealed.

Damn Im torn between both. Like I said right now I have sealed but I don't think it hits hard enough. I don't really want to make my own. I mean mine is fine for now. If I got a shallow mount subwoofer would that change anything?
