i need to hit the trach for ****s sake. maybe i can run a 1/4 on the hyperPAC and see what it says. i know they aren't too accurate but my speedometer and temp and everything else i can reference is within +/- 2. i spun out just getting on it leaving a store for **** and gigs. i was wishing i had a video camera to catch it hooking up. it feels so sweet

Well I think the tires were a factor in the lack of traction at the track, with the new305/50/20 yokohamas on in the rear (a full inch wider than I my old ones were needing replaced badly) I stick to the road again!!! Gotta go back down on the 21st to get the fronts though.

Hey truckin, not to jack the thread, but how are those tires? Those were the ones I was looking at getting in the spring, in the same size too.

I would really like to brake into the 12s!!! acourding to my power to wieght it should be possible

Plus I have been racing on the track for years!! I have an evo running 9.46 at 161mph full street car and had tuns of 10 and 11 sec cars before that ... this truck is my tow truck with some kick lol

Truckin151 ... Im pretty sure your truck can brake into the 13s if not damn close to it!!! You have more mods then me except for the spray but a good buddy of mine has the new lexus is350 with some bolt ons witch went 13.1 at the track ... we have a 1/4 mile marked off on a backroad near my house and when im on motor he just beats me by a car sometimes less ... now yes its on the street witch is a big differnce but should still be in the same ball park .. its all a matter of getting out the hole perfectly witch will help your truck dramatically down the hole track!!!

Not bad for a first timer tho ... few more times at the track you will get everything dialed in and really get the hand of it!!

I like them, I had the 275/55/20's for the last 3 years or so I believe (put about 40,000 miles on them and could have probably squeezed another 3-6k out of them if I had to and they handled great (until I started adding more power/tq to it). The added inch of tread though on the new ones have helped tremendously traction wise.

What truck do you have? RC or QC? The one guy around here (03ramit1) that is in the 12's has an 04 QC SB, Inertia P&P heads, Spartan cam, pacesetter long tubes, dual cutouts, SCT, Edge billet 2800 stall TQ Converter, Caltracs, E-fan, CAI, 6.1 injectors, pushrods, and springs, Hoosier Slicks, (28/10R17) Zex kit, (with 3-10 pound bottles) SRT rear end. (I know he just redid his notrous setup but I dont know what he's at now) On the bottle hes at a 12.9, off he's at a 14.3...

When you look at that mod list and then look at mine:

- AFE Hemi High Breather CAI w/ Modified MIT Tube
- Fastman 85mm TB
- Pacesetter LT Headers w/ Cats
- Pacesetter 3" ORY
- Borla XR-1 Race Muffler Dumped
- UpGraded 26 row Trans Cooler
- APS TQ Converter w/ 2700 Stall
- 4.56's
- Diablo Sport Predator Tuner, 91 tune (Modified)
- Yokohama Parada Spec-X 305/50/r20

I just dont think that I'd be in the upper 13's or even low 14's with those mods and in 100% street trim including the tailgate, hard top tonneau cover and spare (I said it in a previous post, I really see no point in doing all the weight reductions that I could do to get a better time when its all going to be put back on for daily driving). I know the truck is still lighter than his quad cab but even with the weight difference I dont think my power to weight ratio is enough to get me that low but we'll see. May be heading back to the track on the 19th if I can get out that way for a while.

truckin, your about there... the caltracs will help alot..you might want to consider lookin for a set of stock 17's just for the track...with dr's you are runnin high 13's (at least on a cali track)... and droppin air pressure whether on streets or dr's is a must (streets to 23-25 lbs, dr's 18-20'bs, slicks 12-18 lbs).... the rear tires have to 'flex' to gain traction, this has been proven over an over again... now the front's should be aired up to have less rolling resistence but the rears no..

Drop the pressure down to 23-25 on streets? I had mine set to 30-35 last time around.

Thats a good site to get an idea of what you should be running based on your weight and hp if you know those numbers.

And yes chefred is right about the tire pressure ... You will get much better traction on lower pressure in the rear.

I have a RC and i took alot of stuff out to lighten it up such as sound proffing stuff from inside the cab, spare tire, tailgate, random suports that arent needed and other miscellaneous stuff that i found that looked usless amd i got the truck down to 4,432 with me in it. I weighed it on a computer corner balanceing scale used for race cars so its as accurate as u can get ... and the truck made 407 whp before i took out the CATs and made the intake.

My brother just moved into a new shop and we havent put the dyno in the ground yet so i havent had the chance to put the truck back on to see the power with no CATs and the intake ... Hopefully we will get it installed next week sometime just waiting on the permets from the city for the hole for the dyno. And my superchip should be here by then as well!!

So im hoping the truck makes another 50whp witch should put me in the 12s for sure as long as i can hook up!! Then all I need is a cold night down here in south florida!!!
