Red face Finally made it to the track last night.....

Not exactly the results I was hoping for though but oh well .... To much power plus not enough traction = SPINNING

Not going to sugar coat it any so here are the results:

Run #1 (spun damn near sideways for the first 100ft or so)

Reaction Time: 1.1769
60ft: 2.9730
330ft: 8.8799
1/8 E/T: 12.8100
1/8 MPH: 66.70
1000 ET: 15.8345
1000 MPH: 78.71
1/4 ET: 18.5042
1/4 MPH: 88.05

Run #2 (Eased off the line before laying into it, still spun but not as bad as the first run)

Reaction Time: 1.3825
60ft: 2.5302
330ft: 6.5978
1/8 E/T: 9.9224
1/8 MPH: 73.57
1000 ET: 12.7535
1000 MPH: 83.10
1/4 ET: 15.3101
1/4 MPH: 90.91

All and all though it was a fun night, and it proved what I already knew... I need more traction before I add more power. I should be in the 14's if I can get it to hook right off the line, some of the guys that were out there were hitting the mid 14's right at 93mph or so with a solid launch so I'd bet $$$ on it that if it were to hook right at the start it be right about where I want it to be for now. I have a set of Caltracs I'm getting for Christmas which should help a bit with the traction.

Yeah those are being added to the list, I want to see what the caltracs will do for street traction first though. After that and a new set of tires to replace the ones I have now and we'll see what happens. I dont make it to the track very often so street performance is really what I am after right now

Well, even though the times aren't good you gained a little knowldege about what your next move should be with the truck. With some traction you will lay down some good numbers next time.

yeah im not disappointed at all. I already knew that there was going to be traction issues after the headers and throttle body were put on. I know the power is there and its getting to the wheels just fine its just a matter of getting it to hook up now.

Yep it was a fun time and got some good info on what my next few mods are going to be. Really wish i could have gotten it to hook though. I was about to ask one of the guys out there if i could throw his slicks on for a run but it was late for me and the track was about an hour and a half drive so i ended up leaving earlier than i would have liked to. Next time maybe i can see about using them for a run or two.

Your telling me... I was racing a basically stock 07' quad cab with a drop in K&N, superchips and magnaflow muffler and his best was a 15.2... Just goes to show you though that you can have all the power in the world but if you dont have traction you dont have sh*t!!!

Im running down to discount tonight to see about getting mine replaced under their extra warranty on top of the manufacturers.
