Post Oil Pump Pressure ???

I was on my way home today and I was on the freeway, I was driving 65mph
and the check gauges light came on, then I noticed my oil pressure drop to low and as
soon as the light went off the pressure went back to normal. Would this be that
oil pump is going out? If so how hard would it be to change and how long would it
take to change? Oh and another thing, I pulled off the highway and shut the engine off
for about 15-20 minutes. I had another 7 miles to go. I drove 45-50mph and the light
never came back on. As I got closer the the house I got it up to 60mph and the light
still didn't come on. Please help, I can't afford to take it to the dealer so I am going
to have to do it myself. Thank you

I had the same problem on my 2002 4.7 , try replacing the oil sending unit switch , they
run for about $23.00 at Autozone ,takes about 10 minutes to replace.
Goods luck.

I agree, normally if you lose pressure like that, the engine would make nasty noises.

It was the oil pressure sensor. Changed it and now everything is good.
Runs really well.
