Fine have it your way; I can assure you any model can be modified in any way the owner specifies providing the owner is willing to spend the cash. The manufacturer is ONLY the starting point. Those that don't look past the flashy advertisements or showroom candy miss the true supercars.

I would go with a Challenger over a charger because the chal' has a slightly more refined interior that in the Charger and it's a two door with a 6-sp. If you're taking corners and want a ton of aftermarket support go for the stang' though.

OR here's my third and favorite option: Get a used C5 or C6 corvette which, even in the base form (c6 especially) could spank the others for around the same price. (Z51) 0-60 in 4.1 and 1/4 mile in 12.4 according to Car and Driver.

The srt models, which the op mentioned he was eyeing, have 425hp, and they don't look like a full-scale hotwheels car.

The auto SS's come with the L99, which are only 400hp motors. Overall, the manuals can be quick in the best of hands, but the autos have been very disappointing.

^ But keep in mind that the Challengers have a 5 speed automatic and weigh a bit more, hindering the performance of all that power.

But I have to agree with you on the looks. They have horrible visibility out of the back.

Here is te link to their website. http://www.bruntonauto.com/

you take a rear axle out of a chevey s10 and the motor and tranny is a GM v6 supercharged with a 6speed or 5speed manual. how a real sports car should be!!

That's all well and good for track days but day to day would get old way fast. exposure to the weather, limited security, limited reliability. It looks like an amazing car for track days and since it is street legal you can drive it to the track.
