Default Seafoam cleansing in a 35 MPH zone

So I went to autozone and picked up a 10 dollar can of seafoam engine cleaner. Went on home and put half in my tank. My tank had maybe a couple of gallons. And the I poured the rest down the TB while revving the motor. So after it was all in there I didn't get any smoke or anything and my neighbors were home. I left the house and went for a little drive. Giving it as much gas in the neighborhood without being a BIG ******* yielded some smoke but this show need some WOT action.

I get on the main road wear the speed limit is posted 35(learn something new everyday) and traffic was mild. So I wait for a spot with no cars and I get on that road and PUNCH IT WOOO! Smoke burning out and I'm booking it. Well some cars are coming up so I start to slow down. Right about that time I see a houston police officer WALK out in the middle of the street giving me the open hand stop with a cordless radar gun in his other hand.

So I pull in the little side street they are posted up on and he starts asking me how long I have had the truck. I assume he was doing this because my plates are still from Louisiana. (texas sucks to move a vehicle to btw).
Then I tell him "sorry sir, I was trying to burn some seafoam out of my engine" he asks "what is seafoam" i said "it's like a safe for your engine all around carbon cleaner" then he ask "that works?"

Well he wrote me a ticket anyway for 55 in a 35. Oh well, it was my bad all the way so I am not upset about it.

Our jackazz gov'n just imposed anything over 20mph is the cost of the ticket PLUS 200 more. Guess he needs a new house or car. Sry to hear about the ticket. Be thankful he didnt give you something for the smoke. They can be creative sometimes when it comes to tickets.

with seafoam you are supossed to suck it into the intake, shut the truck off, then wait for like half an hour. then turn the truck on, and slightly rev it. tons of smoke. i have found that if you dont wait long enough, theres not a lot of smoke present

It's amazing to see just where your ticket and fine monies go to. I was the tech consultant for a county in Ga for about a dozen years and had access to the breakdowns because I had to make changes to the computer system for fines as the state would constantly manipulate what percentages went where.

Some of the $ went to very worthwhile places like victim's funds and such. Some went to ridiculous places that would have NOTHING to do with tickets or fines or law and order in any way.

In almost every case, your local agency gets only a very small percentage of the fine...

Really? well I guess I will give it another go. This time I will just wait until the next door neighbor isn't home.

This definitely made me laugh! Sorry for the ticket, but at least you got a story out of it!

nice, tree huggers are pretty foolish and easy to mess with. I try to refrain from it but sometimes its to easy.

Right now my truck is public enemy #1 to the security in this neighborhood. Ever since I dumped some brush near one of the entrences. I didn't know you couldn't dump it though because there was already a **** ton of it there.

So because these people can be pretty uptight and rightous I have been trying to be good. houston poilce are writing tickets like crazy right now so I will wait until I get this one takin care of before I risk getting another one.

when i worked at tires plus we had an "intake service" which was just like seafoam but it had a "T" in a vacuum line with a canister which held the fluid. you would run the motor off idle at about a 1/16th throttle just to raise the rpms. It would suck the whole bottle down within like 10 minutes. you would shut the motor off let it sit for about 10 minutes then run. Its pretty much the same with the seafoam u shouldnt suck it in really fast. You she slightly move the throttle pulla vacuum line off that is right after the throttle body so it is evenly distributed and once the bottle is empty shut the motor off and let it sit that way it can soak into the carbon.

ford use to have a fuel problem that would consist of an extended crank in the morning and it has to do with carbon building up on the back of the valves and soaking up the fuel before it could get into the chamber. the only way to repair it was to pull the intake and use a portable media blaster and use walnut shells to blast the carbon away. Yes this is what the dealer would do to fix ur problem.

So I've always been curious. To use Seafoam via the gas tank, all you do is pour it in and then drive like normal? All the smoke and such is only when you put it in via the intake then right? Also, how much do you put in the tank? Half a can? Anyone got a good step by step guide?

I've always wanted to try it, but am afraid of messing stuff up.
