Hello all, i have a 2008 Ram 1500 SLT 4X4 Big Horn Quad Cab Hemi. I am currently going to college 350 miles from home and I did an oil change before I left with Castrol Syntec 5W20, and its been almost 4 months and 5,000 miles and my oil change indicator hasn't come on yet. I'm going back for Christmas and I won't be able to get an oil change when i'm back, so i wanted to get an oil change before I leave, if I do an oil change before the light comes on will it reset with the oil life, or does it go by mileage? I looked at the oil and it still looks decent, its still a nice clean color, so i don't know how much life is left, i just don't want to wait and drive 600 miles over when i need an oil change.

 

i dont have a light and i change mine every 5k im 300 miles over with my change of oil in the garage and its rainy so ill get to it later today or tomorrow...maybe saturday when im doing my brakes .....id say do it now why not...if not..600 miles shouldnt hurt anything at all......
