I don't know if it was just the JBL's that I got, but my 6x9's didn't quite fit in the front doors. I basically had to beat them in.

 

thanks alot slientram that does help. i typically like alpine, but not there subs so much so i was kind of wiery about the speakers. but i love their amps and headunits etc. thanks to all.

 

just curious, what dont you like about alpine subs? ive always liked them a lot.

 

Np Ajax ^^ I just noticed the prices have finally gone down on the speakers, amp, and HU I've been keeping and eye on, just ordered my 5.25 speakers waiting for the 6.5 components to drop a wee bit more before I jump on those. I'm going to hate having to wait piecing this set-up together

Oh not to jack the thread but any comments on the Alpine CDA-9886 hu ? how's its internal amp ? (I'll be getting a stand alone 4ch amp but just curious, like what kind of rms speakers could it support)

 

i have no idea about that alpine CDA 9886, well i have had a few of the alpine subs myself all type r's and a few buds have had them as well. all three of mine blurned up on me (this is with a professional install.) only running on a fosgate p250 amp so it def wasnt the load. And my buds never sounded that good so i put 2 and 2 together and make my assesment. it could def just have been the setups because ive seen and heard some really good sounding alpine subs, but its just me if you drank 3 of the same beers and didnt like them. you prolly wouldnt spend your money on them again...
