Just checking if anyone out there gone up against the new chevy ss pick up.

 

No comparison. The SS is diaper spatter.

 

I've tried to get 2 different ones to go. No takers.

regular hemi ranks about the same as an SS.. [8D]

 

Good article. They were close but the SS was faster in nearly every catagory.

 

theres a guy on here with his signature with the SS and Hemi, according to his times the SS is over a second faster in the 1/4

 

The Chevy looks great and they are pretty quick. They lack the abilty to tow like the Dodge and all wheel drive is high maintenance and low on mpg. all in all the Dodge is more a truck.

 

You're right, but take a good look at the Ram and see if you can find anything about that truck that might slow it down. Another interesting thing about that article is taking the weight and 1/4 mi times to figure WHP. When I ran the numbers, the chevy had considerably more HP than what they advertise. The Ram HP was right on.

 

I just ran the numbers again.

SS= 5300# and ran the 1/4 in 14.99 which = 310 WHP x .22 = 378.2 HP

Ram= 4800# and ran a 15.11 which = 275 WHP x .22 = 335.5 HP

The numbers are better for the SS in part due to the AWD, but enough of a difference to haul a heavier truck to a quicker time with the same HP?????????

CHevy Silverado SS = Their Super Truck
