went to best buy to grab one yesterday, f'n $10 for a 3ft cable...

will go check out radioshack. is there a constant 12v in the back of the truck, or ignition 12? I want to be able to view without the backup lights on, but want to avoid running switched power all the way from the front if I can.

where did you take it into the cab? by the steering column or found a better spot?

I've had one of those sitting in my room for a month now. Hopefully I can get it installed over Christmas vacation.

Definately cheaper and longer at radioshack. I ran the cable along the frame and then in by the steering column (I run everything through there!). The cable that came with mine was 4.5' too short. For power, I tapped the trailer plug reverse wire. Eventually I will also run switched power so I can turn it on whenever I want. A diode in each power source will take care of any issues with that. I don't think there is any full time power back there...

I want one on the front as well, so I can pull right up on stuff.

Believe it or not, my locking receiver pin works just fine. A little surface rust never hurt anything!

The guts are stainless anyhow. I lost my key to that exact locking pin. Luckily there was a small amount of play where I was able to push it to one side and had a 1/4" area of the rod that I was able to sawsall off. Took less than 30secs

I have my eyeballs on a specific camera but it's big bucks. I want it more for backing up to my trailers. My one trailer i gotta get precise or the M'fr won't drop on.

I'm looking forward to hooking up my boat with this thing. It should be a lot quicker.

Go to monoprice.com. They are generally good quality and much cheaper than electronics store. Most electronics store have a huge margin on cables and it's where they make their money!

Amen. I share your pain too man. Backed out of a driveway on a bad angle and did 500$ in damage to a Sierra. Thank god it was my buddy's dads truck so they just picked up used parts and I payed them cash. I just need some where to mount a monitor. I was looking into ones that go in the rearview mirror but they look/are cheap. For now I just need to be extra cautious thats why you see my doing 27 point turns in tight places just to be sure.
