Problem about the 5101 is that it's strickly a Remote start set-up and has a one buttone remote. Has no siren or shock sensor and no lock/unlock/panic buttons. You can get away with no siren(use the horn) but you'll have to buy a shock sensor. ($20 shipped off ebay) You will have to carry around your original key fobb to lock/unlock(arm/disarm) the system.

As far as the bypass, using a bypass is actually easier as far as the install goes than installing an alarm/starter without one. The bypass actually learnes everything and needs very few hook-ups. There are bypass's that use NO key but you need 2 programmed keys to program it.

Took me about 3 hours for my install in my truck.

I only say it's a "problem" is because it seems that in your last post it seems like you would want to protect your amps + stuff....You'll just need to carry two remotes around is all.

it's very easy to upgrade even entire remote starters/alarms a few years down the road. it's actually easier because all your connections have already been made.

I picked up a basic remote start for my Exploder because it was all i wanted. i won the bid for $26.01 plus $5 shipping AND i don't even need a bypass cuz Ferd didn't put PATS in the Exploders until '98 and i got a '97...hehe.

Maybe you can squeeze out a extra bucks for THIS Just remember you would still need the bypass that runs like $40-50 alone. Way overpriced because they know you'll buy it....have to buy it....lol HERE is the bypass you want.

But dog, RS dont have accessory ports for add-ons like shocks sensors do they? I wouldnt think so. The most it will have is a pin switch for the hood.

The one I just installed in my Exploder does. It's an Ultra Start GX-11R???
Has an expansion interface port, shock sensor port, datalink port and a bypass port.
