i ordered 4 of these for my truck:

i bought them at sears for $42 each and they came with free installation but i didnt trust sears to do it right so i went at it myself.now i heard this was an easy job but not for me it wasnt, lol.now keep in mind i changed all 4 with my truck sitting flat on the ground with all the tires on.the drivers side front took some time while i tried to grip it and keep it from spinning while i took the top bolt off-next came the passenger side front which the bolt got half way off then didnt want to come off even after i soaked it in pb blaster.lets just say a sawzall took care of that one the rear shocks were very easy once i got the air tools goin.this job maybe should of taken an hour since i didnt lift it or take the tires off but it took 3 hours and alot of bad words, lol and for the record i have to say i really dont notice a big change from the stock shocks but my truck only has 29k on it so maybe the stock ones arent bad enough yet or maybe its b/c i havent driven the truck over to many bumps yet since the change

I didnt hear good things about the rs5000's, the 9000's are reputably great, but the 5000s have less good reviews for them...

If you're just driving around on the street, you won't notice much difference. The rs5000 is an offroad shock and works pretty good for mild offroading.

The stock shocks go flacid when they get too hot, whereas the 500os do quite well.

slam that thing around a little bit off pavement, you'll see. I had the 5000s on my old 2nd Gen 4x4, were great. Got the 9000s on my 3rd Gen, even better...

This is the reason I do everything myself. i do not trust anyone wrenching on my vehcile that i am soley responsible for out on the open road.

besides that...I'm super finicky about scratches. Guys at the shop love to hang all over vehicles, especially trucks. In their mind a truck is meant for that.....Not for me.

Besides, it's good to know your vehicle and what it needs. Can't know either if you aren't familiar with it. That means wrenching, not eyeballing....

Anythings got to be better than the soft, crappy shocks that came on mine. I'm going with high pressure Bilsteins on mine.
