Default 4wd indicator light flashing????

I was trying to **** my truck in 4wd today and it def feels like it shifted but the 4wd indicator light keeps flashing instead of staying illuminated. I tried shutting the truck off and trying it again and nothing seems to work. I have an 08 with the electronic shift ****. Anyone had this problem. I have 35" tires and i think that might have something to do with it. Please help guys, my truck was just in for the 15k service 2 days ago and i dont want to go back if i dont have to.

thanks

Did you try putting the truck in nuetral or in reverse(back up a few feet)? Maybe there is a bad sensor and it thinks it's not engaged? Or is not fully engaged?

yeah blinking means the sensor doesnt think its engaged. could just be the sensor, or could be the linkage

i always shift it from a stand still in neutral. I took it for a test drive in the snow it was def in 4wd because it felt very confident around tight corners with nearly 10" of snow. Im going to call the dealership in the morning to figure this out. Thanks for the suggestions guys.

I've shifted on the fly before at 65mph into and out of 4hi. No probems at all. Super smooth can't even tell. Did it on my last truck and this one. 65 is a bit fast, but just wanted to show it does no harm. (I think the book says something like up to 55mph???)

I'd guess it's a sensor if it's actually engaging. Either a loose wire or bad sensor.

I believe you have to have it in N to shift to 4lo, and sitting still also. Anything Ive driven w/ 4wd has been like this.

Good luck with your problem op, post up what you find out!!
