Default Power Locks Problem

Hey guys I have a 2002 dodge ram 1500 with power locks and remote keyless entry. Whenever I press the lock/unlock button on the keyless entry or on either the driver or passenger switches in the truck, only the front locks operate and the rear ones don't. Is there something wrong with both of the rear motors or is there a fuse for just the rear locks that might be blown? Please point me in a direction to start looking.

Thanks a lot in advance and happy holidays everybody.

There have been issues with people locking actuators from time to time. There are a few threads on this. I had the same issue with my front drivers door.

Some people find broken or damaged wires in the door harnesses. In my case and a few others guys, the actuator itself that was bad and needed to be replaced.

So you're suggesting testing to see if the actuator works? How would I go about doing that?

start by checking the wiring and maybe use a multimeter to make sure they are getting current

IDK how to test the actuator itself. I would have to look up wiring diagrams. But on mine there were only 4 wires that went to it. One pair is to the dome light circuit I assume and the other pair would be to the lock. You could probe them for voltage when locking and unlocking with the switch.

I love the search function, I have the same problem with my 2004.5 Dodge Ram Dsl.

very common to find broken wires in the jam. Here's the wiring diagram for the right side.

I have a 2002 Ram 1500 and my rear driver door lock does not work, the other three work fine. I have already replaced the main power switch (for window problems) yet the door lock still does not work. I am going to check wiring tonight since the blogs I have seen point to that being the problem. I will let you know.

So I had the same problem as some others, the wire harness that goes from the frame to the door had 6 broken wires in it. I spliced the wires together and everything works great. It was not easy as I had to pull the rubber topping back and squeeze the new wires back in, but it was worth it. I didn't have to open up the back door at all. Now I am just hoping the other back door does not have the same issue in the near future.
