Default Maybe trading in the Ram

on KBB it says I would get

Excellent
$10,750
Good
$10,175
Fair
$9,150

What do you think about that? I need 4x4, no if ands or buts about it. Does anyone know of some 4x4 newer trucks for sale? Any help is appreciated.

You gonna be in roughly the same boat I'm in. You got a lot in your truck that you'll NEVER get back out of it!
I really want a diesel QC 4x4, but no dealer around here will take more than about $4k off the sticker and if they do that, they'll only give me about $14k on my truck. I have $8k in mods alone!!! Book on a stock truck is $14k! No way I'm going to trade my truck for that.

I've never advertised mine, but the two people who came to be wanting to buy it just out of the blue, we came to an agreement of $18k, basically book plus half of the mod $ I have in it. BOTH were hot for the deal, NEITHER could get any bank to finance it!

I'm afraid best you'll hope for is KBB, and take your lumps on the mod $...

If you are going to trade it in, you might as well strip all of the mods off of it before you do the trade. Dealers rarely give you anything for mods, so if you sell them you can get yourself a little extra cash to put toward the new truck.

Only other suggestion I can make to you OE, is a selectable locker in the rear. I have a couple of huntin' buddies in GA, with 2WD trucks, basically farm trucks that get used pretty heavy and they hunt on the weekends with them.
For the most part they can stay with us IFS 4x4 guys, with only a couple of exceptions. None of us can hang with the SRA guys with lockers front and rear, like my Jeep is. Hell, if my Overland had a little more lift and more aggressive tires, it would run circles around my truck off-road!

Two guys that come to mind have true lockers or spools, but DO NOT use their trucks much for daily drivers, maybe to go to the feed store, and hauling to market, etc. But a selectable locker like an ARB might be the ticket for you. I know it's a catch-22 putting more $ into your 4x2, but may be a solution if it looks like you are gonna lose your a$$ on yours.

I've got a local shop here in central Fl. swears they can fab a solid axle in mine. Have offered to take a little labor $ off if I help and do the stuff I can do myself. Not ready for that on a mint truck with only 45k on the odometer, but down the road, I think I may have to take them up on it. It would take a ton of time and $ to get another truck to where mine is at now...

Yeah, I understand everyones points.

RH-Yeah snows a biotch with 4x2. I got stuck in a driveway yesterday.

Teach-If I do trade it in I will be stripping it down.

Hammer- what do you think the difference for turning a 4wd IFS to a SFA, as a 2wd to a SFA 4x4? Transfer case, and different rear axle. Thats it right? EVerything else would be the same.

My Dad and I got sweet deals on our trucks. Both of us have 2008s we bought brand new with the 4.7, 5sp auto, tow package, for $16K when Dodge was doing half off late last year (2008).

He just traded his in and got what he owed for it. He fot a 2009 SLT CC pretty much loaded with the 4.7 also. It stickered aroung $35K and he got it out the door for $23K. So, they are dealing a bit down here anyway. Not sure what the Hemi and 4x4 would add to it but pretty sweet deal nonetheless.
