Default Exhaust ???

I have a 2008 Ram Quad Hemi and looking at a cat back exhaust. Problem is that I have done some homework on the MDS which some exhausts will give you drone at highway speeds. Has anyone installed just a muffler on our 3 inch pipes with any productive results? I have done some work on my CAI and now I need to do the exhaust. Any help would be appreciated.

I have a taken off the factory muffler and put a 30$ GLASSPACK and then just taken off the resinator. sounds mean and only 130$ a payed. cheap and sounds reallly good. No highway drone.

Any loud exhaust makes the truck sound like a jake brake whenin MDS mode. Not so noticeable on the highway with my Magnaflow, but when it kicks in around town, it sounds crappy.
I just turned mine off with my Diablosport Predator. No more MDS.

It's not the catback that gives the drone. it's the MDS that causes the pulsating drone. ANY aftermarket catback will cause this problem.
Only way around it is to deal with it or buy a handheld tuner to disable the MDS feature. Sounds like a drowning helicopter.

I myslef, have a Magnaflow catback and a Diablo Predator tuner with MDS disbaled. Must I say....I will NEVER go back to the stock trnasmission tuning set-up. MDS sucks *****. The truck shifts way quicker and is sooooo much smoother. i don't know WTF Chrysler was thinking using 4cyl to keep a huge heavy truck moving through the air. Never worked for me. MDS was always causing my truck to slowly slow down because 4cyl isn't enough power to keep the truck up to speed on the highway. Then the MDS would kick out and then back in and then back out...etc..

I got the same MPG's with it turned off as with it on. PLUS, the tranny controls on top ot it are killer. Much better than factory settings and you can return the truck back to stock for warranty repair work and the dealer will never know you had a tuner. Well worth the $350 spent.

I'm going to Florida in march for the month but not till then.

I have been reading your posts on what you are doing and have done to your truck. Sure looks good.
Do you think a resonator delete and 3 inch tail pipe would help or worsen the drone? I also drive a 2006 Charger GoManGo Daytona which I have added a Borla cat back after extensive research about drone. With the Diablo and a custom tune it only has the drone at some highway speeds. So that is why I'm looking at different exhausts. Thanks.

does disabling the mds with the ds also lower the highway rpm's? my pops has an 07 and I've got an 03. his rpm's run way high for highway. I'm doing almost 80 mph at 2k rpm's while he's doing maybe 70ish I believe at the same engine speed. wouldn't that essentially kill gas mileage if he cruised at same speed as me?
