I was going to take my chrome grille on my Brilliant Black 07 RAM QC 1500 to get painted black this week but I think I just might buy a grille assembly from a mopar website instead. The only dilemma is they offer a Chrome Black color or just a Black color. What do you guys think would match the Brilliant Black best? The Brilliant Black was offered in 06+ models for those of you who didn't know, it's a glossy black with metal shavings in it that causes it to sparkle. So I was wondering if that Black color is just a flat black or like the Brilliant Black with sparkles? Also one last thing, on the 06-08 Sport models, is the grille assembly flat black or is it Brilliant Black like the rest of the body?

All I know is that the Sport model has all the same body color.

 

i like the black edges with chrome grille (maybe im bias...)

 

what about painting just the frame and leaving cross hairs chrome or viseversa....

 

I would assume the black grill is the basic plastic ones like the ones on the SL models.

 

Hey, The dealer sells the chrome grill that came on the most 06-08 models, and they sell the priimed black one that came on the plain dodge rams 06-08 work trucks. That one is black but primed so its a kind of a flat black with no shine. I have the same 07 ram with the briant black too. The dealer wanted 220 for a black primed grill. I got one from certifit.com for 50 brand new. Now, I still have to paint it to color match it but its a smillir black to what the grill is now. As far as i know no online factory mopar place has one shiny black there all primed black. There is a company on ebay sell aftermarket ones shiny black but i kind of like the factory black better. Umm. I still have to chrome grill with the emblem on there, this one didnt come with one so but The best way is with fishing line. Thats how i got my other emblems on the truck off. Works great.
