Yes you DO need longer shocks with a level..
Just because they are are just two inches longer than stock, that may not help. The shocks I put on are for a 2-3 inch lift in the front. I only put a 2" leveling kit on. So, I have room to move on the shock. that's what turned me on to them. Just my opinion.
I had to drop down to a 2.5 inch spring and even then I recomend you go with a 2 inch.
Considering all these changes your best bet is to cahnge your spindles to a 4" lift. Safer, better and higher.
if the potholes are in city limits i would go to the city hall and throw down. here in missouri a friend of mine's tires all popped from road construction they were doing (had to switch lanes from asphalt to concrete with a step up) she called MoDOT and they ended up having to replace tires on like 40 different vehicles for free.
might be worth a shot at getting a free windshield.

Yah... Very true, but...
When you consider that you are going to spend around another $200 to $300 to properly correct your problem, it might be worth it.
And, if you don't fix it you will eventually need new ball joints or worse a broken upper control arm that will run you around the same to fix. At least this $800 will give a higher lift and peace of mind. You DONT want to break a ball joint in the highway at 60 MPH. Then your talking MAJOR bucks.
BTW you can get the spindles for around $500 on ebay.

Beastro, check it out, same place I suggested for the shocks.
