Just because they are are just two inches longer than stock, that may not help. The shocks I put on are for a 2-3 inch lift in the front. I only put a 2" leveling kit on. So, I have room to move on the shock. that's what turned me on to them. Just my opinion.

I went through this... If you have a 3" lift you have maxed out your sag (Down travel, as u call it). Your shocks only have about a 1/2 to 1 inch of sag and your control arm is probably hitting or about to hit your spring bucket.

I had to drop down to a 2.5 inch spring and even then I recomend you go with a 2 inch.

Considering all these changes your best bet is to cahnge your spindles to a 4" lift. Safer, better and higher.

full coverage ins. should cover a new windsheild most states have that.... if something happens to mine they replace for free and in some instances you might get some free steaks.....

might be worth a shot at getting a free windshield.
that doesnt always work. my father in law works for CALTRANS. they get calls like that constantly. mostly guys with huge rims and rubber bad tires. once they say that a pothole caused them to get a flat, caltrans asked if you are running original equipment, if you are running aftermarket anything they tell you to go pound sand.

Yah... Very true, but...

When you consider that you are going to spend around another $200 to $300 to properly correct your problem, it might be worth it.

And, if you don't fix it you will eventually need new ball joints or worse a broken upper control arm that will run you around the same to fix. At least this $800 will give a higher lift and peace of mind. You DONT want to break a ball joint in the highway at 60 MPH. Then your talking MAJOR bucks.

BTW you can get the spindles for around $500 on ebay.
