So I know that this is an old thread, but I was hoping for some help becuase I have the exact same issue as Lost113. The cruise will not work (the light doesnt even come on) until I hit 65MPH. If I hit the brakes and go below 65 the cruise light and everything shuts off and also, if i go above 70 it will do the same.

I have two other issues that may or may not be related, but by blinker has been having issues as well as the on/off control button for my lights (the control button always works, but sometimes it doesnt light up (glow in the dark).

Is it possible that I have a ground wire lose or something like that?

Any help would be much appriciated.

By the way, my truck is:
2006 Ram 1500, 2WD, 5.7 Hemi, no programmer, no lift, etc

Thanks!!

If your cruise is shutting off over 80 kmh that means your ratio programming is wrong and needs to be corrected. If your criuse only works between 65 and 72 mph that is a bad sensor and possibly hub bearing as well.

When my pops put 33s on his 04 hemi we had it reprogrammed, the cruise shut off at 55, so after 4 drop offs at the shop I realized the truck had an 05 harness. When I took it to the dealer they said the brake switch was shutting it off, they replaced it and it did the same thing. after 4 aftermarket tuners I finally gave up. If you fixed yours, what did you do different?

I have come to the conclusion with all the threads I have read that you can't use an aftermarket tuner to do this unless you have a 1500 you might get away with it. What happens is the tuner only allows you to set the wheel size. Whenever the module is programmed it wants all info. When it only gets wheel size the axle ratio, which it also needs, is missing it just defaults to the lowest setting of 9.25 rear end. You need a good scanner to program it correctly.

Not to thread jack but i just bought my 05 1500 with hemi and I'm assuming 3.92 gears can anyone post their rpms at 65 on flat ground, I'm just trying to see if my gears were swapped. Or if previous owner swapped the ratios or tire sizes in the computer. My cruise craps out over 65 I've been told its my ratio but I'm trying to eliminate a trip to dealership

I have an 04 2500 hemi and mine is doing same thing. But my light comes on, I can engage it but then after about 5-10 seconds it kicks back off and it seems like it doesn't really matter how fast I am going and it still tends to do it. Any suggestions?

Black ops your will be a speed sensor problem. You need a scanner that does ABS live data to watch your sensors.

Matched my Speedometer to a known accurate gps always within a mph so i think my ratios are programmed properly, read some where the actual switch can send a bad voltage and kill the cruise. But let's assume its a speed sensor for a moment on a 4wd with 2 wheel abs am I lookin at 3 sensors? The front left abs, the one on the tranny and one one the rear end? Sensors are found cheaper than the cost of dealer diagnosis, truck is a 05 hemi 36500 miles
