Nobody could even fathom a guess unless you read the code and let us know what it is...
Any auto parts store, here anyway, will pull the codes with a code reader hooked up to your OBDII port for no charge.
You can also pull your own codes by cycling the key off and on three times, the code will display on your odometer.
A comprehensive listing of the code and what it means can be found in our FAQ section...

Ya know in my experience with automobiles in general, when I've had a check engine light come on it was usually a bad gas cap. It's a cheap easy fix, if you cant pull the codes I'd give it a try.

'04 with 24k on it, if it's driving normal, is probably evac or EGR related, maybe a shot O2 sensor. I've never had to do the "key trick" as I've always had a tuner or OBDII reader. But it's commonly posted. I just did a search and the post I read on a rival forum states to put truck in neutral and cycle the key 3 times, so try that.
Gotta be an auto parts store over there that has a code reader...
