Big Problem!!!! truck won't move...
I have an 05 hemi with only 50,000miles on her. I have had absolutely no problems out of it sense I got it two years ago at 33,000. I drove it yesterday morning and everything was perfect, but today i go to leave the house and it won't go into any gear. Every gear seems like its neutral. The shifter on the side of the transmission moves freely. After a little bit of idling and reving I noticed some smoke coming out of the dipstick tube, and there is a very very small spot of fluid on the drive way. It has plenty of fluid... HELP!
Hey, I kind of have the same problem too alittle. I have my 07 with only 27,000 and got it at 23,000 and every now and then when I put it in reverse it just revs too. All other gears are fine. I have to put it back in park then reverse and then im fine but it does happen to me sometimes. I dont know. I can still drive fine. Maybe its a defect dodge has. I dont know. IM bringing it to dealer soon so i'll ask.
The fluid level is fine and yes the smoke came from the dipstick tube.
The gear selector works fine on the dash and the cable and shifter are working fine, and park works. It rolls and revs like neutral in every gear except park, thats works.

I had the same problem happen to me yesterday.... I was going down the highway at about 65 mph and hit a small bump in the road and it felt like my tranmission went into neutral... had to get to the side of the road, and it wouldn't go into any gear... I was curious if you were able to solve your problem and did any permanent damage happen?

I was going to ask the same Q as Dirty about the shift indicator in the dash because I thought maybe the shift linkage broke or came loose.
